Wireless Data Transfer Enhances Gas Pipeline Monitoring
The Lower Silesian Gas Company is operating a gas pipeline network in western Poland. The core of the company’s telemetric system is an independent net based on SATELLINE-3AS Epic radio modems.
The SATELLINE radio modems are primarily used to monitor the gas compressing and pressure reduction stations. For long connection distances, some radio modems are used as repeaters. As SATEL radio modems are fully transparent to transmission protocols, they can easily be used to control devices such as boiler controllers (gas temperature setting after pressure reduction) or injection gas odorizers (THT concentration proportioning and odorizer controller reset).
